Pretzel Power-hour

Ok, I’m good.  I rarely post anything not relevant to (the) Basque(s) (Country), but this-THIS-this one couldn’t slip by without a mention:  Beer & Pretzel Caramels from Liddabit Sweets in Brooklyn.  BEER AND PRETZEL CARAMELS!  GAH!  They’re made with Brooklyn Brewery Brown Ale and East India Pale Ale and crushed up pretzels.  omg.

This lovely little piece of heaven also serves forth, among other things, chocolate stout-gingerbread caramels, Meyer lemon gumdrops, maple-apple lollipops, and bourbon-bacon-coffee caramel corn.  Is this for real?

Over the ocean and through the Andes

Ladies and gentlemen,

Coming all the way from Trujillo and Lima, Peru, with an average page-visit time of just over 5 minutes, a one Mr. Roddey W. C. Jones has requested a personal—and honorable—mention.

“you know im the visitor from peru, and you couldnt even give me a shout out? i want a single post dedicated as a shout out to me. im serious”

The Hostess with the Mostess

Since its inauguration on November 8, 2009, Littoral Literal Marrow has welcomed 3,806 visitors.  This might be a little (considering I’ve posted hundreds of photos and nearly all are linked on Facebook, visible to hundreds of people), or this might be a lot (considering other than linking it to Facebook, I’ve exerted zero effort in publicizing it.)  Whatever, es lo que hay.

I registered for Google Analytics a little while ago and I was exploring the findings as of today.  A few tidbits:

1. There has been a 68.25% increase in traffic this week over last week.  The only photo I posted was one taken by my mother on a cell phone and emailed to me (although, it is a picture of the most handsome dogs in the world, so…).

2. There have been 2,661 visits from the United States, 1,055 from Spain, and 20 or less from England, Peru, Portugal, France, Turkey, Belgium, Ecuador, Ireland, Canada, Brazil, Italy, Morocco, New Zealand, Japan, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Malaysia, Chile, Ukraine, and South Africa.

3. Those from Spain, Peru, Ecuador, and Ireland spend between 5 to 5.5 minutes on the site.  The three visitors from Morocco spent an average of 11 minutes, and the average for the 2,661 visitors from the US is less than one minute.  Thanks for representing, guys.

4. The entry about the Hamptons House in Athens is the most popular single entry, which isn’t surprising as it’s the best place I’ve ever lived with the best people I’ve ever lived with.  The picture of me and Iñaki from Mt. Urgull follows in a close second, and everything else trails pretty far behind.

5. 69.58% of traffic comes from referrals from other websites, 30.31% is direct traffic, and 0.11% is from search engines.  56.42% of the total traffic is from Facebook, which I should’ve supposed…

6. Within Spain the most visitors (obviously) come from San Sebastian, followed by—in order—Logroño, Madrid, Urnieta, Bilbao, Barcelona, Pamplona, Jaen, Valencia, Azcoitia, Malaga, Cordoba, Sevilla, Santiago de Compostela, Ohate, Santander, Cadiz, Vitoria, Pozuelo de Alarcon, Granada, Almeria, and Las Arenas.  I only know people in 5 of the 22.

7. There have been visitors from 33 states.  Olathe, Kansas.  Spotsylvania, Virginia.  Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.  Sellersville, Pennsylvania.  East Windsor, Connecticut.  Who are you people?

8. Ahem, people (or person) from Oxford, Mississippi spend an average of 13:01, more than anyone else in the US.  Thanks, brother!

9. Those in Louisville (oh yes!) have been the most constant and faithful visitors.  (Word.)  Or are they just the nosiest?

10. Update:  since beginning writing this, the total count has gone up by 2.

11.  Very very few visitors arrive via Tumblr, probably because I don’t really use Tumblr, so to speak (I don’t really get it, but since I started it on here, I might as well continue.  I just think the format is rather neat and tidy.)

12. Keep reading/looking, please.
